Subsidiary indictment – rescue for the victim
As part of the company’s ongoing service, the law firm filed a so-called “subsidiary indictment” with the court in a criminal case against a former employee in connection with alleged misappropriation of property.
Previously, the prosecutor’s office twice discontinued the investigation, finding no basis for formulating and supporting its own indictment in court. In certain situations, the aggrieved party (in this case the company) may with the help of
a lawyer, file an indictment instead of the prosecutor. Often this is the only chance to successfully seek justice in a criminal case.
