Roger horse and violation of personal rights
The law firm represented a sport horse owner in a personal injury case.
The client’s good name was violated on the Internet, through a Facebook post containing false information relating to the client’s fitness and athletic performance, as well as the allegedly incorrect way in which one of the client’s horses, with the graceful name Roger, was trained. The entry suggested that the horse’s performance and condition had deteriorated after the client acquired the horse, which was not true.
The publication of the entry had a negative impact on the client’s business. As a result of the law firm’s pre-trial actions, including a subpoena, the person who violated the client’s good name published an apology on the fanpage of Roger’s Horse.
