80th Venice International Film Festival – 3 films with our legal services
The lineup for the 80th Venice International Film Festival was announced moments ago. We are pleased that 3 films of our customers will participate in this prestigious event (August 30 – September 9, 2023).
In the main competition, we will be rooting for the production “Women Of” (Woman Z), directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert, which we have the pleasure of handling from the legal side. Congratulations to the producers from No-Mad Films: Klaudia Smieja and Bogna Szewczyk-Skupień.
The Orizzonti festival section will in turn be competed by the unconventional film Housekeeping for Beginners, directed by Goran Stojevski, on which we had the pleasure of supporting Polish co-producer MADANTS and providing services to international sales agent New Europe Film Sales. This project is the result of cooperation between North Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Kosovo and Poland. It’s a true Balkan strike.
The third production with our legal services is “The Palace,” directed by Roman Polanski, which will have its world premiere at the festival. The authors of the script are: Jerzy Skolimowski, Ewa Piaskowska and Roman Polanski. The complicated
Italian-Polish-Swiss-French co-production was quite a legal challenge. Congratulations to Polish producer Lucky Bob and personally to Wojtek Gostomczyk.
The line-up for Venice is also a great success of our legal team which have been rendering legal services for all of these chalenging film projects. Congrats to Monika Ratajczak, Tomasz Przybecki i Magdalena Wilczyńska.
We sincerely thank the creators and producers for their trust and the opportunity to participate completely in such fascinating works.
