Nationalization of pre-war enterprises – a new issue
The law firm undertook to conduct proceedings for the recovery of assets left behind by the pre-war company.
Shortly after the war, PRL (the communist authorities) took the family-owned food business into foreclosure and later nationalized it. The case is complicated by the fact that the proceedings now launched must take into account the harsh realities of the post-war economy and the laws of the Stalinist era more than 70 years ago.
Nonetheless, an analysis of archival documents and the pre- and post-war legislation in effect at the time provided grounds to question the accuracy of the nationalization. We aspire to ensure that the heirs of the owners can successfully claim compensation for the unlawful actions of the people’s power.
