Inheritance law – defending against claims for a retainer

Attorney-at-law Przybecki undertook the representation of a testamentary heiress in a case for behavior claimed by a statutory heir omitted from the will.

Retainer is a legal construct that is met with widespread puzzlement and raises axiological questions because it distorts the will of the deceased testator. However, as long as the inheritance law remains in force in its current form, there will be no shortage of lawsuits for the payment of a retainer.

At the client’s request, the law firm undertook a comprehensive defense in proceedings for retention, with particular emphasis on the correct valuation of the inheritance estate, the value of which is the basis for calculating the retention.
