Sale of the picture “The Peasants” to the US
Sony Pictures Classics has secured distribution rights, including in the USA, for the picture “The Peasants” (directed by DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman), a Polish contender for the 96th Academy Awards, through a Polish sales agent. Our law firm played a crucial role throughout the entire process, representing the Polish sales agent in negotiations with Sony.
Our involvement went beyond merely drafting contracts; we also provided valuable advice on the intricacies of the US law, aiding in the understanding of the requirements set by the US distributor. We guided our client on the legal aspects of preparing the film for delivery to the distributor to ensure the acceptance of the delivery by Sony.
As a result, “The Peasants” now have the opportunity for an international premiere and a chance at making it to the Oscars. We take great pride in representing Polish cinematography on the global film market! 🎬🌍
